This statue of the patron was erected in 1739, after a spate of constant flooding in the area.

Built 1468 - 1472. The courtyard contains the Mithras stone
and a Roman milestone.

The Hospitaller's Church of the Holy Spirit
Built 1399. Contains frescoes (from 1402) painted by South Tyrolean artist Hans von Bruneck.
The Town Parish Church
“Our Lady of Moos” is a building of the Late Gothic period. The Roman grave-
stone kept inside, which is inscribed with the words “Postumia Victorina”, was excavated in 1497 while the foundations of the parish church were being laid.

Multscher and Municipal Museum
The Multscher and Municipal Museum, which is housed in the Deutschordenhaus, contains a
late-Gothic altar screen by Hans Multscher, dating from 1459. The former living quarters of the Deutschordenhaus, with the guild marks of local craftsmen, are also of note.
Reifenstein Castle
First mentioned in the 12 th century, Reifenstein Castle in Freienfeld is one of the best-preserved historical castles in the land (open to visitors: April - end of October).
Pilgrimage Church of Maria Trens
A building of great historic interest. With the possible exception of the Maria Weissenstein Church, Maria Trens is the most important place of pilgrimage in the Southern Tyrol. A pilgrim’s way between Sprechenstein and Trens, with various stations along the way, was recently inaugurated.
Zwölferturm Tower
The 151 foot (46m) high Zwölferturm Tower, which is the characteristic landmark of Sterzing, marks the point of separation between the old and new parts of the town. Built 1468 - 1472.
